12U Black Takes 2nd in Halloween Howl

12U Black traveled down to Christiansburg, VA to compete in the NSA Halloween Howl to benefit and fight ALS.  Proceeds of the tournament were donated to ALS research.  After a competitive day, 12U Black finished pool play in 2nd place….then the rain moved in cancelling Sunday’s bracket play, resulting in a 2nd place Gold Bracket finish and the 4th straight tournament resulting in hardware for 12U Black.

The girls wore special special jerseys to honor Coach Chris’ father-in-law, JW Taylor, who lost his battle with ALS nearly 2 years ago.

14U Liberty Blue Wins Capital Region Invitational

14U Blue stayed local for the Capital Region Invitational at Claude Moore Park and Potomac Lakes Sportsplex. They came out of pool play on Saturday 3-0 with a #1 seed, including a 17 run, 22 hit performance in game 3. On Sunday the team took advantage of a first round bye to win 3 back-to-back games and take the championship trophy home. They outscored opponents 53-18 over the six games.
