Over Father’s Day weekend, the 16U Liberty headed to Ocean City to competing in the “Blast at the Beach” tournament. The team had a great showing, going 3-2 and placing 5th out of 13 teams. More importantly, they took the name to heart and had a great time hanging out for an extra day to enjoy Ocean City’s beach.
The 16U Loudoun Liberty spent the day bowling and volunteering. After hitting the lanes, the girls packed over 550 food bags for the LEF/LCPS Backpack Coalition Program. These bags are distributed weekly to area students living in food insecure households to ensure they have food over the weekend. We’re proud of your service girls!
16U Liberty took home the 2nd place trophy this weekend in the Madison Small Memorial held in Loudoun County. The offense was on fire with a total of 48 runs through the weekend, including 18-2 and 11-5 victories in Saturday pool play. Two more wins in Sunday bracket play propelled them to the finals before falling short in the championship game.
On day two of the Potomac River Clash, 16U Liberty went 3-0 to take the Silver Tournament Championship. Game 1 was a close 2-0 win, but Liberty was determined to make it to the championship game. They won the semi-final in dominant fashion with a 13-4 victory, then went on the win the final 6-4.
