Liberty Blue traveled south to Myrtle Beach, SC for the Beach Blast Showcase and their final event of the fall season. On Saturday the girls were lead by college coaches and played hard, going 2-1 in scrimmages against 14U & 16U teams. On Sunday, however, the team made sure they ended on a winning note, going 3-0 in single-elimination bracket play. The final was never in doubt as Liberty won 12-3.
This gives the team a 32-5-1 record for the fall season including two championships at the 16U Open level. They will take a break before starting up the summer season following the conclusion of high school play.
Every October in Loudoun County, Liberty Blue participates in the annual Breast Cancer Awareness tournament and this year was no different. Something else that was no different was the the result. For the third year in a row the team walked away with the championship trophy. What makes this achievement all the more impressive is that the three championships have come in three different age brackets: 12U Open in 2017, 14U Open in 2018 and 16U Open this year. Blue went a perfect 3-0 on Saturday to earn a first round bye on Sunday and left no doubt on their way to the championship with a decisive 12-4 victory in the semi-finals. In the finals, they jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first inning and never looked back, eventually winning 10-3. Congratulations on another great win!
Liberty Blue went a perfect 5-0 in their first tournament championship of the season. Competing in the 16U Open division, it was smooth sailing until the championship game, when the team found themselves down 6-5 and time expired. With bases loaded and two outs, a two RBI double resulted in a dramatic walk-off 7-6 victory. Leading up to the championship game, Blue had outscored opponents 37-6, including an 11-1 victory in the semi-finals. Congratulations ladies, great work!
Liberty Blue started of the 2019-20 season by competing in the USA Softball Virginia Fall State Championship. The brought the bats as they battled to 4-1-1 record and runners-up title. They outscored opponents 42-5 leading up the championship game, before falling 5-4 in ITB play.

Liberty Blue went back to Central Maryland to compete in “Fun in Sun,” the last standard tournament of their spring / summer schedule. They went a perfect 6-0 to bring home the championship trophy. Liberty’s bats and gloves were on fire as they blazed through the competition outscoring the opposition 58-3 in the six games. Great job ladies!
14U Liberty Blue played up in the 16U Open Swing for the Ring Tournament and came away as tournament champions. In a rain-shortened competition the team went 3-0 and outscored opponents 30-0.
