12U Liberty played in the one day September Shootout down in Richmond on 21 September earning their first Open tournament game victory. While they didn’t bring home any hardware, the girls fought hard and played well in their first Open tournament including putting a scare to a couple of ‘06 teams playing 12U.
They followed up the tournament with some team bonding down at Kings Dominion on Sunday.
Liberty’s two 10U teams combined forces to compete in the Pony National championship held locally in Loudoun County. The two squads meshed well and made it all the way to the championship game to finish as runner-up. Great job ladies!
10U Liberty headed to Harrisionburg, VA to learn from one of the best college softball teams in the country and attend their 3 day softball camp. These girls had such a great time together living in the dorms, eating in the dining hall and…playing softball for three days straight!
10U is on a tear with their fourth consecutive tournament championship. They traveled to Central MD for the Queen of Diamonds and came home with another championship. After going 2-1 to finish 2nd in pool play they were perfect on Sunday, including an 18-4 victory in the championship game over the only team that beat them the day before.
10U Liberty took a break from practice, and their winning ways, to cheer on local Woodgrove High School softball in the first round of the VHSL state playoffs. Liberty clearly brought good luck as they sat behind the outfield and watched a two-run home run go over the fence for a walk-off Woodgrove win.
Continuing their winning ways, 10U went undefeated to win the USSSA State Championship and their third consecutive tournament. These girls battled hard in both pool play and bracket play, overcoming a 7-2 deficit in the semifinal game to make to the finals. They weren’t finished yet though, as they jumped out in front 4-0 in the first inning of a championship game in which they never relinquished the lead. Congratulations!
10U Liberty hopped on I-95 and traveled south to Kill Devil Hills, NC where they took on some new competition. The team fought hard and made Liberty Travel proud, bringing home another championship trophy after going undefeated for the weekend. Congratulations and keep up the great work!
