Following the success of the 10U Liberty and WLGSL Fall 10U Nationals teams, Loudoun Liberty has announced the new 10U Liberty Futures. The team will be coached by 10U Nationals coach Jeff Parker. Tryouts will be held December 1 and the team will begin winter workouts in January then start play in the spring 2019 season.
The new 10U Liberty Futures team will be holding tryouts to establish the team Tryouts will be held jointly with the 10U Liberty – DeLancey on 1 December 2018, 12pm-2pm at Fielder’s Choice in Purcellville. Please contact Coach Jeff Parker at Liberty.Futures10U@wlgsl.org with any questions.

Liberty finished the Fall 2018 with a dramatic finish, coming from behind in the last inning of the championship game to win the 14U Open Military Appreciation Tournament in Nokesville, VA. After taking the lead 5-0 against the Krunch, Liberty let it slip away and found themselves down 8-6 as they came to bat in the top of the 7th inning. The offense exploded for a 5 run inning to take the lead 11-8. That would be the final score as Liberty shutdown Krunch in the bottom of the 7th.
Overall, in five games Liberty went 4-0-1 outscoring opponents 55-15. They hit .442 as a team including a home-run by Izzy in the semi-final game. Liberty’s record for the fall is 26-6-1. As they go into winter-break the team is ranked #1 nationally in Power Rankings and #2 nationally in Points.
Wearing pink jerseys in honor of the event, 14U Blue competed in the annual Breast Cancer Awareness tournament. After going 2-1 in pool play, with a narrow 1-run loss, they won their 2nd championship in a row in the 14U Open group. Last year this team won the 12U Open group of the same tournament.
Liberty 10U followed up last week’s second place finish in the Madison Small Memorial with a championship in the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Tournament. The team went a perfect 4-0, outscoring opponents 34-8.
14U Liberty Blue took the tournament championship in the annual Madison Small Memorial. Bats were on fire and pitchers hit their spots as Liberty outscored opponents 55-15 in six games, including a decisive 13-4 victory in the championship game.
16U Liberty took home the 2nd place trophy this weekend in the Madison Small Memorial held in Loudoun County. The offense was on fire with a total of 48 runs through the weekend, including 18-2 and 11-5 victories in Saturday pool play. Two more wins in Sunday bracket play propelled them to the finals before falling short in the championship game.
